Irish Examiner - 14/12/05 I BELIEVE Dick Roche should be restyled Minister for Employment and the Environment. As I listened to him sermonising from the UN climate change summit in Canada I was struck by his obsession with the protection of jobs above the future of the environment. Whenever he is asked about improved standards for polluting industries, he drones on about having a responsibility to protect jobs. It’s funny because as minister for the environment I had the mistaken impression that his primary concern was, in fact, the environment. It is his colleague Micheál Martin who looks after jobs.
